Soil Residue in Carpets From The Winter!

It is SPRING!!!!!  I enjoy opening the windows in my home each year, letting the fresh air in.  After having the house closed up all winter it is so nice to feel the spring breeze and breathe fresh air.  Many of our homes are equipped with forced air heating.  The pressure from our heating systems over the winter causes airborne pollutants to imbed into our homes carpets leaving soil filtration lines, dry particulate, and an overall stuffiness in the air.  Remember, carpet acts as the largest filter in our homes.  Professional carpet cleaning, or carpet steam cleaning as some refer to it, will eliminate many of these contaminates if it is done properly.

I cleaned the carpets in my own home a few weekends ago and I was once again amazed at how much better they look and feel after  the carpet steam cleaning is complete.  I clean the carpets in my home twice a year and the amount of soil I remove from them each time I do a steam carpet cleaning is amazing!  I do not have animals in my home and we remove my shoes each time we walk on the carpets.  Even with this extra effort the soil still builds up.

Many times I have been asked to spot clean areas in less traveled portions of a home while I am there cleaning the more heavily traveled/soiled areas.  I warn homeowners that spot cleaning will usually reveal to them how dirty the carpets are in the less traveled areas they believe are clean.  After spot cleaning the areas of concern the homeowners realize spot carpet steam cleaning made the rest of the carpet in the room look dingy because the spot cleaned area turned out so well.  The room starts to look like a Dalmatian!  Carpet steam cleaning is a highly effective process.  Code Blue Carpet Cleaning takes the time to clean your carpets correctly without leaving residues or harsh chemicals behind.  We DO NOT charge extra for spot removal, pre-spray or deodorizing.  We do not participate in gimmick pricing with bait and switch offers!   I have been cleaning carpets for over 20 years and value the opportunity to serve each of my clients.

Please Call Code Blue Carpet Cleaning for all of your carpet cleaning, tile cleaning, and upholstery needs.

Amazing Job!!!!

March 29th, 2011 • By: Chris Testimonials

Chris did an absolutely amazing job getting our carpets cleaned. It has been a couple years since they’ve been cleaned, and between 2 dogs and a toddler they were pretty dirty, but now they look as good as new! He was very professional and friendly, showed up right on time and was very reasonably priced. He did a great job and I’ll definitely call him next time our carpets need a steam cleaning.

Carpet Detergents

March 28th, 2011 • By: Chris Carpet Cleaning

Anti-allergen carpet steam cleaning and no residue carpet cleaning are terms that are frequently heard in the media today.  Many carpet steam cleaning companies claim their detergents and carpet steam cleaning processes are the most efficient available.  What does all the “hype” really mean and how does it really benefit you as a home owner?

Carpet steam cleaning has been around for years.  Steam cleaning is the authorized and recommended deep carpet cleaning procedure for carpets manufactured by Shaw and Mohawk Industries, the largest manufacturers of carpet in the United States.   When completed properly, steam cleaning assures that carpet is clean without harsh residues.

Residues left behind after carpet steam cleaning indicate the application of pre-spray was too heavy or the technician did not properly rinse the carpet after the pre-spray was applied.  The residual residue left behind will cause rapid re-soiling of the carpet fiber requiring more frequent cleanings.  This residue can build up causing allergic reactions including rashes and/or respiratory problems.  Many detergents contain volatile organic compounds, butyls, and other harsh compounds.  The chemicals and compounds are effective at cleaning carpets but can cause serious health problems.

Code Blue Carpet Cleaning utilizes environmentally friendly detergents that are VOC and butyl free.  We assure our clients that we will rinse every carpet thoroughly leaving no residue behind.  Properly rinsing will leave the PH of the carpet fiber neutral which will eliminate rapid carpet fiber re-soiling.  Our technicians are IICRC certified which guarantees they have been properly trained.   We research the detergents and spotters we use to make sure your family’s health is not jeopardized!

Pet Urine Odors

March 28th, 2011 • By: Chris Pet Odor Removal Tips

Each spring I receive numerous phone calls from clients stating they smell pet urine in their home and they do not understand why “It just started”.  Pet urine is a frustrating problem for many home owners.  One day they do not smell pet urine and the next day the smell of urine permeates their home.  The questions I am always asked in regards to pet urine is” “Why am I smelling it now when yesterday it did not exist”?

Pet urine contains “salts” that saturate the carpet fiber, pad, carpet backing and the sub floor.  Urine salts are activated with moisture.  Each spring home owners open the windows in their homes and the moisture in the air activates the salt residue left behind after the damp urine has evaporated.   The deposit of urine could have occurred months earlier! These urine salts are re-activated when the spring moistures enters the home.  The urine salts begin to off gas and the smell of urine becomes very evident.

Urine odor removal, including cat urine and dog urine is a specialized process.  Carpet steam cleaning itself will NOT remediate pet odors caused by urine.  Many times carpet steam cleaning will enhance the smell of urine!  In order to properly remediate the smell of pet urine an additional pet urine process must be utilized.  Code Blue Carpet Cleaning specializes in pet urine removal and remediation.  We have the training, equipment, and products necessary to remediate the pesky smell of pet urine.  We take pride in our ability to remediate pet urine smells and pet stain removal processes.
